Incense Eggs in Pokemon Go

If a Pokemon holds the right incense and breeds with another Pokemon that has the same type of incense, the parent will produce an Egg containing its pre-evolved form. This can be useful for players who want a particular Pokemon that they can’t normally get without breeding. The incenses that will produce Baby Pokemon are Rock, Rose, and Wave. The parents must be the same type as well. Additionally, Equipping a non-incense Pokémon with the right incense will not have any effect.

The Eggs that are produced by incense breeding will have different moves from their evolved forms. This is particularly noticeable with the baby versions of Azurill, Snorlax, and Marill. The Rock incense will make the parent produce an egg with a Bonsly and boosts its Rock moves by 20%, the Rose incense will let a Roselia or Budewox produce a Bonsly egg and increase the power of its Grass moves by the same amount, and the Wave incense will make a Mantine egg and boost the water moves of the resulting Pokemon by 20%.

Incenses also have some unrelated in-battle effects. In Battle Royale, a player can equip a Pokemon with an incense and increase the damage dealt by the Pokemon to their opponents. This effect lasts for 1.5 seconds, and the Pokemon will only be able to use this ability once per battle.

There are some other uses for incense in Pokemon Go, including attracting specific Pokemon to certain locations and increasing the spawn rate of Pokemon. The regular incense attracts wild Pokemon for 30 minutes, and the event incense can be used during special events to spawn rare Pokemon like Celebi or Pikachu.

The Lucky Egg incense will double the XP earned by cathing and evolving Pokemon while it is active, but only for 30 minutes. These items can be activated by using them near a lure module at a Pokestop.

In the event that a player is stuck in a battle with a Team Rocket member, they can use an incense to weaken the HP recovery of their opponent. However, the incense will only work once per battle and can be used by up to two Trainers at a time.
